The affiliation

Affiliation is in theory a great way to earn money with your blog: you are paid on every sale / subscription to a newsletter / current page ... with targeted advertising.However in practice affiliation is especially profitable for the affiliator, the affiliate rarely win money (or so little that he never touches a check!)!
Indeed even with targeted advertising rate of occurrence is low, the validation of sales by affiliating is not systematic (pb cookie expiration ...), the minimum before being paid is often difficult attainable for a small blog ...
For information after a year ConseilsMarketing.fr only generated revenue of € 2.55 via Fotolia affiliation (and again, this money can only be used for the purchase of new photos on the site!) . We also tried using an affiliate network, but after six months of display advertising, we have earned as € 4.05 ...
So do not count on regular income with affiliate programs, but sometimes after a few months you may be surprised to find a (small) check in your mailbox after a campaign launched several months ago!

Note:- Affiliation can be very discreet and integrate seamlessly with your site. Indeed instead of putting a button or banner ad, it is enough to make a link to the site of the affiliating. This is for example the case for this link to Fotolia and one below with AD42! Another tip is to put in affiliate banners in your newsletters.- Some sites offer compensation in case of registration of your readers on their sites, this can rise to € 5-7.- If part of your blog you quote services sites, be sure to check if they do not offer an affiliate program (usually at the bottom of the sites in a topic "Partnership" or "Affiliation" or "Partner Program"). It is sometimes more interesting because you are targeting products related to your real, and move more directly relates more!
